What has ViewEquipment.com done to make part searching easier and better?

  1. You type in the part number or HECI you are looking for and the Viewequipment.com search engine displays a listing of possible parts that match your search. This allows you to narrow down your search even further, and can assist you if you are not completely sure of the part you are looking to buy.
  2. Once you have selected the part you want, Viewequipment.com displays the inventory results of suppliers who have posted their inventory. Along with these inventory results will often be sample images and helpful estimates of dimensions and weight. We even provide a UPS shipping calculator that is pre-filled with the size/weight information of the part you are viewing, allowing you to make quick educated decisions about ship methods and estimated ship costs. Our database already contains over 1,300 images and weight/dimension estimates, and is growing every day! And if the part you need does not have a photo or size/weight estimates, you can easily request the info with one click of your mouse, free of charge.

Why Should I Post My Inventory on Viewequipment.com?

Viewequipment.com imposes no line item restrictions, post as much as you want as often as you want. Even better, your inventory is automatically linked to our catalog of sample photos, weights, and dimensions, attracting even more interest and exposure for your company’s posted items.

How Does a Reverse Auction Work?

Are you unsure how much an item should sell for? Or maybe you have an idea about pricing, but you want to get the lowest possible price without making endless calls or waiting for dozens of E-mails to be returned. Now with Viewequipment.com you can accomplish these goals by initiating a “reverse auction.”

  1. Unlike in a traditional auction where the buyers compete to raise the price of an item offered by the supplier, in a reverse auction the buyer starts the auction by posting the equipment and quantity that the buyer needs. The buyer can define terms such as warranty, condition, and other miscellaneous requirements.
  2. Suppliers bid full or partial quantities during the auction and can quickly see where they stand to lower their bid at any time until the auction is closed.
  3. Once an auction has closed, the buyer can view a list of the final bids, ranked from first to last in terms of price. The buyer will see the quantity and bid price for each supplier participating in that reverse auction. The buyer is not required to select the lowest bid, and may select any quantity from any of the bids placed. Once a buyer has accepted a supplier's bid and quantity, the buyer may use Viewequipment.com to notify the supplier or may simply contact the supplier at that time. Only the buyer will ever see who bid on the reverse auction - suppliers are not revealed to each other.
  4. Suppliers are asked to keep product available at their bid price for 8 hours following an auction, but whether the buyer actually secures the purchase depends on the buyer’s willingness to quickly contact winning suppliers. When a reverse auction has ended, the transaction is now between the buyer and the supplier. The buyer has obtained the best possible price, and the supplier has successfully closed a deal without wasting time haggling over price and terms. An integrity scoring system is currently under development and will be added to the website in the coming months.

How Can I Name My Own Price For Equipment?

We found that those procuring equipment often know ahead of time how much they are willing to pay. Here’s how naming your own price for equipment can help you get the price you want, when you want it:

  1. First, the buyer specifies the precise terms of the deal, including quantity desired, condition, warranty, whether partial quantities can be accepted, etc.
  2. The offer is posted on Viewequipment.com for all users to see.
  3. The first supplier(s) to accept the buyer’s price and terms gets the sale once the buyer accepts their offer, it’s that simple. If partial quantities were accepted the offer stays open until the total quantity is filled.
